Lightbulb New to dirtbikes, help with exhaust -CRF230F

    Hi everyone,

I'm a relatively new rider, learning a lot about maintenance and repair on the bike.
The previous owner dropped the bike's exhaust against rocks, so it's a bit banged up and has a small crack.

Any advice on replacement exhaust fitments / size? I would like to get an exhaust that has slightly more power output, and makes people jump if i race past. I don't want to spend too much money, already spent a lot on fixing the bike up.

    Thanks!

    Waldo

Is it the header pipe that's damaged, or just the muffler section? They're replaceable separately, so you'll need to be sure you're looking for the correct part. There are plenty of options out there for both. I've always preferred FMF exhausts, but there are dozens of others out there too. Most any of them will provide both a small power boost and more aggressive note than the stock system.

    Hi Neil,

Thanks for the advice! it's mostly the muffler that has scratches and the crack.
and the pipe from the muffler to the engine also has a dent.
    Will check the fmf exhausts.

Is there any specific i need to look out for? sizing? or does all/most exhausts (for offroad bikes) come as a standard size?

They're pretty much designed for the specific engine/bike they're intended for. So as long as you get the correct fitment, you should be fine.

    Old Exhaust

    Hi Waldo12,

Don't suppose you replaced the exhaust on the bike and still have the old one. Would like to buy it from you.

I need the exhaust baffle that is inserted into the spark arrestor.

    Having trouble locating one.

    Thanks,
    Biff1000
